Robert Rauschenberg - became well know in the 1950s with the transition of the Abstract Expressionist movement to Op Art in America. In the 1950s he combined large painted canvases with found objects. In the 1960s Rauschenberg transferred photographs to canvas using silkscreen, formerly a commercial process. Rauschenberg lives and works in New York City and Captiva Island, FL. Born 1925.
